Machinery Self-Lubricated Pillow Blocks for Standard Shafts are precision-made components designed to provide smooth and reliable operation in various industrial machinery applications.
These pillow blocks feature a self-lubricated design, eliminating the need for regular lubrication, thus reducing maintenance requirements and operational costs. This self-lubrication property ensures consistent performance and extended service life, even in high-load and high-speed applications.
Constructed with high-quality materials, these pillow blocks offer excellent strength and durability. They are designed to fit standard shafts, ensuring accurate alignment and stability for smooth rotation. The pillow block housing provides robust support and protection for the internal components, enhancing the overall reliability of the system.
Machinery Self-Lubricated Pillow Blocks for Standard Shafts are suitable for use in a wide range of industrial applications, including pumps, motors, conveyors, and other rotating equipment. Their precision engineering and self-lubricating properties make them a trusted choice for industrial machinery that demands reliable and long-lasting performance.
Self lubricated pillow block Pillow block bearings, sometimes referred to as support block bearings, are mounted bearings that are used to provide load support for a rotating shaft. Their mounting surface is on a parallel plane and offset from the shaft axis. The mounting holes or slots in the base or feet of the self lubricated pillow block bearings allow adjustment and easy assembly.
A Self lubricated pillow block usually refers to a housing with an included antifriction pad. A Self lubricated pillow block refers to any mounted bearing where the mounted shaft is on a plane parallel to the mounting surface and perpendicular to the center line of the mounting holes, in contrast to various types of flange blocks or flange units. Aself lubricated pillow block pillow block can contain a bearing with one of several types of rolling elements, including ball, cylindrical roller, spherical roller, conical roller or metal or synthetic bushing. The type of rolling element defines the type of cushion. They differ from "bearing blocks", which are self lubricated pillow block bearing housings supplied without bearings and are generally intended for higher load ratings and a separately installed bearing.
The fundamental application of both types is the same, which is to mount a bearing safely allowing its outer ring to be stationary, allowing the rotation of the inner ring. The housing is bolted to a foundation through the holes in the base. The self lubricated pillow block bearing can be split or solid. Split type housings are typically two-piece housings where the cap and base can be detached, while others can be one-piece housings. Various sealing arrangements can be provided to prevent dust and other contaminants from entering the housing.
Therefore, the housing provides a clean environment in which the environmentally sensitive bearing can rotate without contaminants, while maintaining lubrication, oil or grease, increasing its performance and duty cycle.
Self lubricated pillow block Bearing housings are usually made of gray cast iron. However, several types of metals can be used to manufacture the same, including ductile iron, steel, stainless steel and various types of thermoplastics and polyethylene-based plastics. The bearing element can be manufactured with 52100 chrome steel alloy (the most common), stainless steel, plastic or bushing materials, such as SAE660 cast bronze or sintered bronze impregnated with SAE841 oil or synthetic material.

· Ease of management enabled by full integration into a unit
Similar to ball bearings, the VIIPLUS cushion supports can be easily attached to a mounting shaft with locking screws. An inner ring provided in the hole of the VIIPLUS spherical bearing contributes to excellent friction performance regardless of the surface roughness of the mounting shaft.
· Maintenance free operation
VIIPLUS pillows are suitable for use without the need for lubrication, so they can be used on food processing machines where the use of lubricant is undesirable, as well as in areas that are difficult to lubricate without worrying. (Bearing life can be extended if lubricated.)
With self lubricated pillow block bearings, product selection is based on:
1.Shaft diameter: the diameter must be adapted to the appropriate dimensions of the bearing unit hole. Properly sized self lubricated pillow block bearings slide easily on the shaft and into position, ready to be fixed by the locking device.
2.Shaft height: the height of the shaft or the height of the backrest is determined by measuring the distance between the base of a plummer block and the center of the shaft.
3.Shaft size: The maximum shaft diameter or the hole size of the mounted bearing.
4.Maximum speed: the maximum permitted speed of the shaft with which the bearing was designed to operate.
5.Maximum load: The dynamic load capacity for bearings capable of combining radial and thrust loads or the maximum allowable radial load for bearings that can only support radial loads. The nominal load varies according to the speed of the shaft. Consult the manufacturer for the rated load at different shaft speeds.
A Self lubricated pillow block bearing consists of a mounting bracket (Self lubricated pillow block) which houses a bearing and is used in low torque, low load applications.
