Thrust Taper Roller Bearings

Viiplus tapered roller thrust bearings are designed to accommodate heavy axial loads and peak loads. The bearings are very stiff and require little axial space.

Thrust Tapered Roller Bearings

Thrust tapered bearings include rollers that have conical sections. The bearing design ensures a true rolling motion for maximum bearing life and load-carrying capacity. Available in both standard (heavy duty, v-flat, screw down, oscillating and crossed roller) and custom designs.

1. Thrust Heavy Duty Bearing

Viiplus bearings consist of two thrust races, a set of rollers and a cage. This design can create up to 40 percent more capacity than cylindrical and spherical bearings with the same envelope dimensions.

The configuration of VIIPLUS bearings creates a benefit called true rolling motion. The extensions of the raceways and rollers converge at a common point (the apex) on the axis of rotation. As a result, true rolling motion reduces heat generation and wear on the races and rollers.

2.Thrust V-Flat Tapered Roller Bearing

The  V-Flat bearing design includes one flat washer and one with a tapered raceway matching the rollers. This bearing type has exceptional dynamic capacity within a given envelope and provides static capacity. Most sizes utilize cages with hardened pins through the center of the rollers, allowing closer spacing of the rollers to maximize capacity.

The  V-Flat bearing design includes one flat washer and one with a tapered raceway matching the rollers. The lower washer is constructed of two pieces to permit self-alignment under initial alignment conditions. This bearing type has exceptional dynamic capacity within a given envelope and provides static capacity. Most sizes utilize cages with hardened pins through the center of the rollers, allowing closer spacing of the rollers to maximize capacity.

3. Screw Down Bearings

VIIPLUS offers two types of screw down bearings – types TTHDSV and TTHDSX. Both types consist of a full roller complement design without a conventional bore. Screw down tapered thrust bearings offer the highest capacity of the v-flat bearing types, but at a reduced speed capability.

4. TTSP,TTC,TTCS - Thrust Oscillating Bearings

The thrust bearings with two tapered thrust races, rollers, a cage and outside retainer which holds the components together during shipping. Customers use these bearings mostly in the steering pivot positions of automotive and industrial equipment.

5.Thrust Crossed Roller Bearing

The crossed roller bearings offer the highest levels of rotation accuracy and rigidity while conserving space and saving material costs. Type TXR bearings are ideal for machine tool applications such as vertical boring mills, vertical grinding machines and other similar applications.

  The shaft and housing washers and the roller and cage thrust assemblies of tapered roller thrust bearings with cages can be mounted separately.

  The optimized roller end design and surface finish on the flange promote lubricant film formation, resulting in lower friction. This also reduces frictional heat and flange wear.

  Depending on the design, crowned or logarithmic raceway profiles optimize the load distribution along the contact surfaces, reduce stress peaks at the roller ends, and reduce the sensitivity to misalignment compared with conventional straight raceway profiles

  The surface finish on the contact surfaces on the rollers and raceways supports the formation of a hydrodynamic lubricant film.
