Plain glacier bushes are plain bearing materials that offer good performance on both wear and friction over a wide range of temperatures, speeds, and radial and axial loads. Glacier Bushes are ideal for construction and agricultural machines or for any other application which requires rotating and sliding motions. Usually, glacier bushes operate without lubricants and are resistant to most solvents and industrial liquids.

What are the installation instructions for oil-free bearings
1, should determine whether the axis, shaft shell with the surface of the collision, protrusion, such as to remove the oil grindstone or fine sandpaper.
2. Confirm whether there is dust or mold sand attached to the surface of bearing shell.
3. In order to avoid bumping when loading, the surface of the shaft and shaft shell should be coated with a small amount of lubricating oil. When the bearing is installed on the shaft center, force shall be applied on the inner ring, and when the bearing is installed on the bearing housing, force shall be applied on the outer ring. When applying force to the bearing, be careful to make the force vertical and uniform down. Deviation will cause bearing injury, so try to avoid deflection.
4. The retainer and sealing plate of oil-free bearing must not apply force. The installation method of hammer and casing is generally used. Because it will damage the bearing, it must not be knocked directly. The sleeve should be struck in the middle, and the hammer should be struck gently. In the mechanical structure, when the inner and outer rings are tightly matched, the backing plate should be used to make sure that the force can be added to the inner and outer rings at the same time. If only in the inner ring, the force will be pressed into the outer ring by the ball, therefore, it will cause scars on the track surface.
5. When the bearing with large margin is installed on the shaft, the method of heating the bearing to 80-90 degrees and expanding the inner diameter to install it in clean oil is widely used. The hardness of bearings may be reduced by overheating, so it must not exceed 100 degrees. At this time, the bearing must be suspended by steel wire, or placed on the metal wire, support plate, do not place at the bottom of the groove. When the bearing reaches the desired temperature (below 100 degrees), it should be immediately removed from the slot and quickly sheeted into the shaft. The bearing will shrink as the temperature drops, and sometimes there will be a gap between the shaft shoulder and the bearing end face. Therefore, it is necessary to use a tool to press the bearing toward the shaft direction.

The low friction of the DU bearings reduces power losses for improved energy efficiency, while the wear-resistant bronze layer provides extended service life. Being self-lubricating, the bearings require little to no maintenance. However they can also be used with lubricant to prevent potential shaft/bearing seizure under boundary conditions.
The compact, lightweight design and thin-wall construction of the DU bearings provide space and weight savings, and because there are no moving parts or metal-to-metal contact the bearings are quieter. In addition, assembly can be done quickly and easily without costly mounting tools.
